Serving all your animal hospital needs in Wilmington, N.C.
Azalea Coast Animal Care is comprised of a
modern hospital, surgical unit, radiology department
and on-site laboratory. We offer physical examination,
vaccinations, heartworm and parasite prevention,
geriatric health care programs for older pets,
dentistry, nutritional counseling services
and a complete veterinary pharmacy.
We recommend a complete physical exam for your pet on an annual or bi-annual basis. Lots of changes can occur from year to year, especially as your pet gets older. Preventative health care recommendations are made based on examination findings and your pet’s individual needs and situation, which you help us to determine. This may include blood, urine, or fecal tests, vaccinations, dietary or exercise advice, and life-style changes.
We offer state-of-the-art surgical techniques should your pet require a surgery. We offer a full range of soft tissue surgeries from routine spays and neuters to more advanced procedures. We also maintain an extensive referral service for those procedures requiring specialized training and equipment.

Our on-site laboratory allows us to perform diagnostic lab testing to help us determine the best treatment plan for your pet's medical condition. For more advanced procedures, we can have your pet's laboratory tests back in 24-hours for analysis. If your pet's condition requires more complex testing, results will be available in only a few weeks.

on your pet's face.

Vaccinating your pet against disease is an
important aspect of pet health care. Proper
vaccination can spare your pets from such
potentially deadly diseases as rabies and distemper.
Some vaccinations must be re-administered
periodically to protect your pets from diseases
and keep them healthy for a lifetime.

We also offer EKG, pulse oximeter and blood pressure monitoring to analyze your pet's cardiovascular condition and monitor heart rate and other vital signs during surgery and recovery. We also utilize an outside cardiologist service for additional review of your pet’s laboratory results as needed.

Older patients commonly experience the same problems that older humans do – heart problems, diabetes, arthritis, chronic renal insufficiency, dental problems, hearing and vision loss, etc. Many of these conditions we can treat to extend and improve your older pet’s quality of life.

Proper nutrition is fundamental to your pet's
well-being throughout his whole life.
Many illnesses can be controlled or even
prevented by what your pet eats.
There are many choices of pet food available . . . .
let us help you make the right decision for your pet.
