Mara E. Guth, VMD (photo coming soon!)
Dr. Guth earned her doctorate at the University of Pennsylvania and has been practicing feline veterinary medicine for 14 years. At the ripe old age of 8 years old, she knew that she would become a veterinarian. Dr. Guth took her love of horses and books to Washington University in St. Louis, where she graduated with a degree in English Literature and a minor in Biology. After beginning veterinary school, it was too impractical for her to have a dog, so Dr. Guth adopted an 18 pound, 4 year old orange tabby from a local shelter and began her journey. "Mr. B" was the best pet any veterinary student could have. During her senior year of veterinary school, she met "Bubba", a 22 pound black domestic long hair cat, and she knew then that one day she would have a cat hospital. Today, her greatest pleasure is her 4 year old son, whose greatest pleasure (second only to trains) is having fun with their 3 cats named "Armani", "Travis" and "Spud".
Laurie Braxton, Veterinary Technician (photo coming soon)
Laurie has loved cats since she was a little girl, growing up with her "brother" cat "Sandy", who lived to be 19 1/2 years old. Although she has a degree in creative writing, and has worked everywhere from the IRS to a makeup factory, Laurie knew she had found her calling in 2003 when she worked as a kennel attendant at an animal shelter. From there she began working as a feline veterinary technician which she has been doing ever since. Laurie and her husband live with five cats named "Phil", "Chuckie", "Timmy", "Phee", and "Lily".
Erica LaBohne, Receptionist - Technician (photo coming soon)
Erica LaBohne joined Caring for Cats in May as our ace receptionist and doubles as a technician when needed. She is an alumna of the W.B. Saul High School for Agriculture. Although she currently has no pets---can you believe it---her passion to take care of animals is strong. She grew up with a dog, is very fond of cats and can't wait to move to a place where she can have one of her own.
Kelly Ann Hansell, Veterinary Technician (photo coming soon)
