Meet Our Compassionate Staff
Michael A. Johnson, DVM
Dr. Johnson was raised in the Midwest. In 1977, he graduated with a B.S. degree in Microbiology from Michigan State University. Dr. Johnson received his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Michigan State University, graduating with honors, in 1981. That same year, he moved to the Merrimack Valley and practiced Veterinary Medicine at the Andover Animal Hospital from 1981 to 1993. He then left to join the Plaistow Animal Medical Center until 1995. Dr. Johnson opened his own clinic, the Johnson Veterinary Hospital, which has been located in Lawrence since 1995. Dr. Johnson lives in Pelham, N.H. with his dachshund, Kremlin and his 2 cats named Chanel and Cookie.

Jeanie Gaeta, Manager of Operations
Jeanie has had 13 years experience in Veterinary management. She assists in surgery, radiology, laboratory analysis, pharmaceuticals and reception. Jeanie is the clinic's computer wizard and responsible for computer data processing. She is the mother of 2 grown boys, Marc and Alec, and her youngest son named Christopher. Jeanie especially enjoys cooking and gardening. She shares her home with her 2 Rottweilers, "Isis" and "Titan", together with 9 various other pets. Jeanie is always ready to give lots of hugs, pats, and kisses to any animal that wants them!
Sheila Chappell, Receptionist & RoomTechnician
Sheila has worked in the veterinary industry for almost 10 years and is our head receptionist.
She has 4 dogs named Jade, Scoob, Joey and Marka. Sheila is known to foster anything without a home and also has a horse named Scarlett.
Malissa Pelligrino, Receptionist & Animal Technician
Malissa has spent 7 years in the veterinary field and has recently expanded her technical skills. Her duties including blood work and laboratory analysis, surgical technician and X-ray assistant.
She also performs reception duties when needed. Malissa has a wonderful 3-year old son, Anthony, and last May, gave birth to a beautiful baby girl named Calliegh.
Alec Michaud, Kennel Assistant
Alec is a graduate of greater Lawrence Vo-Tech School and is our kennel director.
Alec enjoys cars and owns a 1968 Chevelle Malibu which he is in the process of restoring and which goes much faster now!
