Randi, Practice Manager
Roscoe Village Animal Hospital is proud to have Randi Roth as its first practice manager. She comes to us from the retail industry where she has 22 years of experience. Originally from New York, Randi moved to Chicago for the birth of her niece, Emily, fourteen years ago and has never left. Since then, she has also become devoted aunt to Dan, 12, and Justin 71/2.
Randi has an A.A.S. degree in Retail Business Management and a B.A. in Sociology. She is thrilled to have migrated to the veterinary world and plans to become a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager at some point in the near future. Randi grew up with dogs and birds and it is her heart’s desire to have a dog of her own someday soon.
For the time being, she satisfies her need for animals with daily doses of the “cuteness” she encounters working at Roscoe Village Animal Hospital. If you should have any questions or concerns about your experience at Roscoe Village Animal Hospital, please do not hesitate to contact Randi either by telephone or email rjroth@roscoevillageanimalhospital.com .

JULIET, Client Care Coordinator
Juliet has been working with animals for approximately ten years. In addition to her love for animals, she brings with her a variety of other interests and experiences including art, music, jewelry making and scuba diving.
She is also a licensed massage therapist. A “jack of all trades”, we make good use of Juliet’s versatility and you might find her answering phones or assisting with exams at Roscoe Village Animal Hospital. Juliet lives in Chicago with her dog, “Lucy” and her two cats, “Delilah” and “Lenore”.
ERIKA, Senior Veterinary Nurse
We are thrilled to have such a talented patient care provider in Erika. She has eight years of experience working with animals. She has two dogs, Gemini and Bailey and two cats, Jasper and Harvey.
Erika rescued Harvey, a diabetic, from euthanasia and is proud to say that he no longer needs insulin. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, listening to live music and from time to time, throwing theme parties.
ROLANDO, Veterinary Assistant
Rolando has seven years experience working with animals, having initially started out as a kennel assistant. One thing he likes about working at Roscoe Village Animal Hospital are the special trainings in veterinary medicine available to staff.
In the future, he hopes to become a massage therapist. But for now, he enjoys reading Sci-fi books, going to the movies and hanging with his friends and family. A little-known fact about Rolando is that he has a birth mark in the palm of his left hand that spells the word “hi.” He is a special guy, indeed.
CRYSTAL, Veterinary Nurse
Crystal is originally from Orlando, Florida where she first worked as a volunteer for a wildlife rehabilitation program and then as a veterinary assistant in an animal hospital. Crystal has an Associate Arts degree.
She has two cats, Hansel (3 years old) and Gretel (4 years old). Early in her tenure at Roscoe Village Animal Hospital, Crystal developed outstanding technical and nursing skills and was quickly promoted to veterinary nurse. She has a natural talent with animals and we are proud to have her on our team.

DANIELA, Veterinary Nurse
Daniela has been working as a veterinary nurse for four years in anticipation of her goal of attending veterinary school, which she will do next year at Michigan State. She currently holds an Associate degree in Science as well as an Associate degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry.
Other animal experience includes working with dolphins at the Shedd Aquarium. She has two dogs. Her 10 year-old Rottweiler, Apollo, likes to sing when he ears ambulance sirens. Her other dog, Tomka, a 2 year-old pointer mix, likes to dig holes in the neighborhood where she then buries bones and treats for later. In her free time, Daniela enjoys reading, listening to music and traveling. Daniela is also Bilingual in Spanish and English.
ELIZABETH, Client Care Coordinator
Elizabeth comes to us directly from beautiful Austin, Texas where she worked for over five years as a veterinary receptionist and technician. She also volunteered for the ASPCA. She and her husband have two pets: Lucy, an 8 year-old terrier mix and Lord, an extraordinary 2 year-old cat who stands on his back legs and claps when he wants to be picked up!
Elizabeth plans to attend graduate school for her PhD in Industrial-Organizational Psychology in the near future. We very much hope that she will find a way to stay with us at Roscoe Village Animal Hospital while she pursues her studies because the front desk would not be the same without her.

MELLANIE, Veterinary Nurse
Mellanie has lots of experience working with animals. For the past five years she has worked in small animal clinics and for two years before that she volunteered at the St. Louis Zoo in the “Great Apes” department. Other volunteer experience includes The Humane Society of Missouri, Weimaraner Rescue, and delivering pet food to needy families through Meals on Wheels.
She recently received special training in animal CPR. In addition to working hard at Roscoe Village Animal Hospital, she is pursuing her B.A. in English with the plan of continuing on to a Master’s degree and eventually teaching college level literature. Off duty, she enjoys her two dogs, Melania, a Pit Bull mix, and Russell, a Dachsund, as well as painting, reading, writing and yoga.

CYNTHIA, Veterinary Assistant
Before coming to Roscoe Village Animal Hospital, Cynthia volunteered at P.A.W.S. Chicago in the Laurie Neuter and Spay Clinic where she monitored dogs and cats after surgery and introduced potential adopters to animals in need of homes. She is delighted to have her first dog, a Siberian Husky mix named Blue.
All throughout high school and part of college, Cynthia worked with children as a tutor, camp counselor and mentor with the plan of pursuing a career as a clinical social worker. Luck for us, she changed her plan and has decided work with animals. She will apply to veterinary school within the next couple of years. But for now, she loves coming to work, learning something new each day and interacting with all the great cats and dogs.
JOSH, Veterinary Assistant
This marks Josh’s first experience working with animals, though he has been surrounded by them throughout his life (rabbits, hamsters, iguanas, turtles, cats and dogs, to name a few). He and his soon-to-be-wife, Elizabeth, have a Labrador retriever named Wrigley a beagle named Rosie and a puggle named Sam Wise. An avid runner, Josh has completed two marathons and will be running in the Chicago Marathon this fall, so plan to cheer him on! In college Josh double-majored in Communication Studies and Philosophy. He has plans to attend graduate school, perhaps veterinary school? It is a strong possibility.

MELISA, Veterinary Nurse
Melisa has been working in the veterinary field as a technician for five years. She feels she has learned a lot and has gained strong technical skills, especially when it comes to blood draws and catheters. In fact, she came to Roscoe Village Animal Hospital with a reputation among animals as the person you want to see if you must have a needle inserted. When not on the job with animals, Melisa volunteers with animals, most recently with P.A.W.S. She has a young Norwegian Forest cat named Baby, who is a survivor of feline distemper and loves to talk! He apparently uses her ear as a pacifier from time to time.
Melisa also has Scylla, an adorable crème brindle pit bull who loves people and swimming, and swimming with people. In the summers, Melisa rides her bike with Scylla to the dog beach where they play together. Her future goals are to continue her education in both veterinary and human medicine and end up as a pediatric nurse practitioner. But in the meantime, she enjoys music and dancing until the sun comes up.

BRANDON, Kennel Assistant
Brandon is very happy to have his first job working with animals. Previously he would try to create opportunities to interact with as many animals as possible, but it just wasn’t cutting it, so working at Roscoe Village Animal Hospital suits him well. He does have a pet, a fruit-eating giant schnauzer named Harry. Brandon has a wide variety of interests including art, fashion and sports—especially soccer, a lifelong passion which ultimately led to his playing on the team in college.
However, it is music that takes up most of his life outside of work. In his future, Brandon sees completing his education, traveling more extensively in South America and spending a little more time with his family. Brandon would like to send out a special message to all bulldogs, pugs or any other chunky wrinkly animals to please come in to Roscoe Village Animal Hospital, so that he can play with him/her!

LARRY, Veterinary Nurse
Larry has been working professionally with animals for nearly ten years. In addition to his experience working in a veterinary setting, he has special training in canine physical therapy. Larry has also volunteered at Lincoln Park Zoo and at Monkey Jungle in Miami. His studies include Primatology.
In the future, Larry plans to return to school to receive his degree as a Certified Veterinary Technician. At home he has a chocolate Labrador named Buddy and a blonde Labrador named Hailey and when he is not working, he likes softball, bowling, running and weight training. We are happy to have such an animal-loving, knowledgeable staff member in Larry!

She has also been volunteering fighting for animal rights with Mercy for Animals for over 4 years and has been surrounded by dogs and cats her whole life. She has two cats, Ludo and Nowa, who just got a lion cut and now looks fierce! Her passions include swimming, reading, music and helping animals any way she can. She especially has a soft spot for dogs with smooshed faces, like pugs. Sara graduated from Loyola University with a degree in Biology and wants to travel the world studying animals in their environment.
